Keeping Your Brand Close at hand March 4, 2010

While having a coffee the other morning in Edison Park (Chicago), I took note of the sleeve that protects the hand from extreme heat. This one wasn’t the typical boring cardboard or generic message sleeve, no sir, this was a regular cornucopia of brand marketing.  Although a brief glimpse in time, brand building is all about frequency- repetition. If you are struggling with marketing your brand and cash is tight, look around; are there basic opportunities to “get your brand out there?”

  • Local event sponsorships- your logotype on t-shirts at the 5K run
  • Ads in commuter trains or bus routes
  • “Marriage mail” or the local value shopper (co-op) mailings
  • Chamber of Commerce or Rotary ads or speaking engagements, perhaps both

Since we’re in the recovery mode, it’s time to get back out there. Inaction will cause further loss of traction for your brand unless you move- small things count.
